The Berkeley chapter of Phi Gamma Delta is proud to host the first annual Cal/Stanford Big Game Rivalry Run in connection with the Stanford chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. Our goal is to host a fun and safe run from Cal’s Memorial Stadium to Stanford Stadium, which channels the enthusiasm of rivalry weekend into a charitable cause that unites our two communities.
We will be donating all proceeds to support the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) foundation, which has supported children in need since 1977. We are excited to establish what we hope to be a lasting tradition that gives back to the community we’ve benefited from so much.
Event Details:
Description: The Big Run is a relay run beginning at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley and ending at Stanford Stadium near Palo Alto. Two to four participants will run a given segment at a time, alternating with replacements in a following car.

About The National Foundation For Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA):
The National CASA Association is a network of 955 programs that are recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings. Volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Independent research has demonstrated that children with a CASA volunteer are substantially less likely to spend time in long-term foster care and less likely to reenter care.
